Sprout Cafe
Sprout Café serves flavorful, well-portioned brunch at refreshingly reasonable prices.
While making our way to the ever-bustling Sweet Maple for brunch, we stumbled upon Sprout Café, tucked just a few blocks away—and we’re so glad we did. What began as a detour turned into a new favorite brunch restaurant.
The café itself is calm and unpretentious—maybe a bit too quiet if you're craving a bustling brunch vibe—but the food more than makes up for it. Every dish we ordered hit the mark. The California omelette was bright, fresh, and generously topped with avocado, while the shakshuka came bubbling in a skillet with rich tomato flavor and hearty vegetables. The dressed side salads were delicious and considerably better than other side salads I've had before.
We were surprised with a warm, pillowy cardamom bun, offered on the house—soft, slightly crisp at the edges, lightly dusted with powdered sugar, and served with a dollop of butter that melted into every crevice.
Even better, the prices were significantly more reasonable than any other brunch spot in the area. It’s a rare find to enjoy a full, delicious spread without walking out feeling like you’ve been upsold.
The one thing Sprout Café could use is a little more energy—perhaps some music, or a few more diners to liven up the ambiance—but honestly, that’s also what made it such a relaxing, unrushed experience. It’s perfect for a group brunch, a catch-up with friends, or even a quiet solo meal.
Verdict: Skip the lines, walk a few more steps, and let Sprout Café surprise you. We’ll definitely be going back.
Sincerely,
Shaye Story
