Hi! My name is Shaye Story and I love food.
This blog is for anyone who lives to eat, and for everyone who just loves food.
I’ve been obsessed with food for as long as I can remember, but cooking? That came later. I grew up in Hawaiʻi, where every meal felt like an event, but if I’m being honest, for most of my adult life, I left the cooking to other people. My short stint as a baker taught me two things: 1) I’m better at devouring food than making it, and 2) nothing, and I mean nothing, beats a fresh pastry with a perfect latte.
Here are five reasons I think you'll enjoy my blog, whether you're the kind of person who can’t stop thinking about your next meal, or just someone who wants to discover great food:
Great food discoveries. I’m always on the hunt for amazing dishes, whether it’s the best poke bowl on Oʻahu or a coffee shop in San Francisco that gets my latte order just right. If I find something I’m obsessed with, you’ll hear about it. This isn’t just a recipe blog—it’s my way of sharing the best bites and sips I come across.
Honest reviews. I’m not here to pretend everything I try is perfect. If a dish flops or a restaurant doesn’t live up to the hype, I’ll tell you. But when something’s good, you’ll know it’s something I’d go back for again and again.
Tips for food fanatics. Whether it's tracking down the best coffee beans or learning the secret to a poke bowl that’ll make you feel like you're back in Hawaiʻi, I’m all about finding small ways to improve your food game.
My kitchen fails. Not everything I do in the kitchen turns out Pinterest-perfect. In fact, most of the time, it doesn’t. But hey, food is about having fun. And if I mess up, I’ll share the ridiculousness because it’s all part of the process.
Fun food adventures. Food is meant to be enjoyed, but it’s also about adventure. I’ve tried weird, wonderful things (some that didn’t always work out), and I’m always on the lookout for the next bite that changes the game. Whether I’m traveling or just trying something new at home, I’ll take you along for the ride.
When I’m not eating or searching for my next meal, I’m probably at a coffee shop, working through my latest latte or trying to figure out how to recreate a dish I can’t stop thinking about. You’ll find me in restaurants, cafes, and kitchens wherever I go, and I’m always up for an adventure—even if it means eating something totally unidentifiable from the back of the freezer (I’ve done it, no regrets).
If you try something I recommend, or you’ve got suggestions for me, drop me a line. I’m always looking for the next great bite. And if you just love food as much as I do, stick around, follow the blog, and let’s dig in together!
Sincerely,
Shaye Story
